Editorial Policy

How RateReceipt writes and updates homeowner guidance.

Last updated June 2, 2026. RateReceipt publishes practical, neutral homeowner insurance guidance that is separate from paid links and community report calculations.

Source standard

Guides prioritize official insurance departments, NAIC consumer materials, FEMA, CFPB, state regulator pages, and other clearly identified consumer resources. When a guide references a state-specific issue, it links to the relevant official source whenever possible.

Editorial independence

RateReceipt may display labeled paid links after approval from an advertising or affiliate partner. Paid links do not determine which topics are covered, how community medians are calculated, or whether a user report is included in a public aggregate.

Corrections and updates

Insurance rules, market conditions, and official resources can change. If a page is outdated or a source link is broken, contact support@ratereceipt.com. Material guide updates are reflected with a new last-updated date.

Limits

RateReceipt does not provide insurance, legal, tax, or financial advice. Homeowners should confirm policy-specific decisions with their insurer, a licensed agent, or their state insurance department.
